Today, we’ll introduce the glass used in smart mirrors.

About Smart Mirror Glass

Mirror-coated smart glass is an optical product created by applying a precise vacuum magnetron sputtering coating on one side of the base glass, achieving a one-way mirror effect. Specifically designed for mirror-display devices, this high-performance optical glass combines high reflectivity and excellent light transmission.

When the display is off, it seamlessly conceals the internal LCD system, presenting a flawless mirror surface. When the display is on, it vividly showcases the LCD content while maintaining mirror functionality. Additionally, it supports integration with capacitive touchscreens for interactive use.

Smart Mirror Glass’s Feature

It’s a Two-Way mirror glass.

One-way mirror glass has a light transmittance of 10% and a backside reflectivity of ~90%, functioning similarly to traditional mirrors. In contrast, mirror display glass offers a light transmittance above 30% and a reflectivity of ~70%, with a transmittance-to-reflectance (T/R) ratio of 3:12.

The difference in light transmission primarily stems from variations in base glass materials en manufacturing processes. Additionally, mirror display glass incorporates UV and blue light filtering to protect eyesight—a feature absent in one-way mirror glass.

Toepassingen
